Follow the Blue Plaque Trail in the City Centre

Have you ever noticed a Blue Plaque on the side of a building in Leeds? If not, make sure to look up! The Civic Trust has been installing them since the late eighties to commemorate buildings, events and people.

Each lovely little Blue Plaque tells its own story, and it's a fabulous past-time to follow their trail to each one around the City Centre. There is over 170 plaques, so keep your eyes peeled!

Try a 0% Drink at Hoist House

Turn left out the train station and take yourself slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre by enjoying a non-alcoholic drink at Hoist House.

Located at Wellington Place, the guys at Hoist have you covered with a great selection of 0% drinks to try this January. It's a great atmosphere on a weekend for a casual drink in a lovely setting, and if you're missing the vibes that come along with going out for a drink, this is the place to try!

When Dry Jan is over, make sure to give their Bottomless Brunch a try.

Make use out of restaurants offering big discounts on food this January

House of Fu, Jamrock, Waterlane Boathouse, Blue Sakura, The Owl, and lots more have huge January discounts on their food at lunchtimes, mid week and even some on weekends.

We spotted all of the best discounts on Ayah's aka @leedsindulgence on Instagram stories, where she has created a highlight showcasing the best of January's offers. Click here for discounts.

New Year, New Beginnings: Try out a new Hobby?

We know its cliche, but new year, new me...Dry January, look anything is possible!

So, why not try out a new hobby? Leeds has so many fun activities to try, from Ice Skating, Roller Skating (we love this post by Roller Girl Gang), Go Karting, Indoor Climbing at Depot

Each requires brain power, and what better way to start off your new year than with a new skill learnt or a new enjoyment found?

Even if you're not on the Dry January bandwagon, you may have found some of this blog post useful, if so, feel free to share it with your friends and family who may fancy a discount, new hobby or even a food tour in our lovely City of Leeds!
