The Best Wine Bars in Leeds
Nov 08, 2024
If you're looking for some of the best wine bars in Leeds, you're in the right place.
We have some fantastic bars serving up some of the very best wines, sourced from all over the world. Each wine bar listed below is independent and uniquely its own, each offering their own comfortable corner of the city. What we love about the places listed is their passion for wine, and their enthusiasm to help and make sure you get what you're looking for, no matter on your expertise level!
The Decanter
Dimly lit, The Decanter is a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to unwind with a glass of wine from anywhere in the world. Often featuring on some of our bespoke food tours, The Decanter has bar snacks and sharing plates to accompany wines. Not only do they offer wine tastings and bottomless brunches, the one to watch is their Wine Down Wednesdays, where they offer a free cheese and meat board with any bottle of wine purchased.
What we especially love is that no matter what your knowledge level is with wine, the staff are more than happy to guide you to the perfect bottle, whether that's a red, fizz, white or rose!
Lattitude
Since recently making the move over to their new shop, we’ve been regulars at Lattitude, working our way down the longest wine list! We love sitting in the shop as you’re sat amongst wines from all over the world - giving inspo for your next glass, or should we say, bottle. Wine flights, charcuterie from local suppliers can make it the perfect evening
We highly recommend trying to book onto one of their wine tasting evenings if you get the chance, and their shop makes a great spot to find a special bottle for birthday's and Christmas.
Friends of Ham
We've been for date nights, mate dates and family catch ups, Friends of Ham is a great hub for very good quality small plates and sensational wines.
Their Leeds City Centre spot is just outside of the train station, with their second location out in Ilkley, both popular spots for get togethers.
Our favourite that we've tried from here was a bottle of Orange Georgian wine, which we felt worked with the charcuterie selection at the time. It's just got a really nice welcoming and cosy feel to the place, making it the perfect spot for a glass or two.
Bottle Chop - Headingley
If you're a bit more environmentally conscious, then this is perfect as all wines are vegan, natural (no nasties) and have recently been named in the Top 30 Bottle Shops by The Sunday Times.
