Your Guide to the Best Kebabs in Leeds
Nov 26, 2024
Sqew
Award winning kebab shop that opened during the pandemic, Sqew has been top of the list for a go-to kebab in Leeds, with people selling this place out on the weekly. After recognising a gap in the market, owner Mitch knew Leeds had been calling for just this. With inspiration from the levant, including countries like Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine and more, Sqew's passion is creating silky smooth hummus for all of Leeds to enjoy (and don't we just!).
They've been a part of our food tours, and we love their lamb shawarma's, falafel and hummus bowls - to be fair, we love everything on their menu and you'll often find us in here on our lunch breaks.
Falafel Guys.
If you're a falafel fiend, this one's for you. Dare we say the best falafel in town, it says it in the name, these guys know their stuff about falafel. Falafel Guys have three venues across the city, one is in Salt at Granary Wharf, with the other inside the newly opened Northern Market and a caravan on Briggate for those of you on the go.
I am Doner
Award winning kebabs, rice and salad boxes, I am Doner's mission is to make the humble donner be enjoyed on more of an occasion, rather than just when you've had a drink. They make their own fresh flatbreads daily, and across the nine kebabs and bowls, only use a total of 53 ingredients.
With 100% recyclable or compostable packaging, I am Doner are really covering off every tick box to make it an all rounder! Their signature flatbread has fresh vegetables including tomato, red onion, grated carrot, fresh coriander, pickled red cabbage, as well as feta, sauce and mayo.
Mythos
Mythos have a takeaway venue in Hyde Park and a restaurant up in Chapel Allerton, serving up gyros, yeeros, gy-ros, however you pronounce them (we say yeeros!). Our personal fave is their Pork Yeeros; shaved pork, tomato, onion, tzatziki, wrapped inside a flavourful pitta, with oregano chips, parsley, paprika and parsley.
Rola Wala
For every naan roll sold, Rola Wala donate a school meal to a child living in poverty- how can you not want to eat there!? Rola Wala are inside Trinity Kitchen and have been a well known venue for many years. Their naan rolls really are the star of the show, you pick a filling; butter chicken, chicken tikka, beef brisket masala, pulled lamb, paneer tikka masala or chickpea masala.
You then can choose which extras you want, their masala fries and chutney pot are a must order!
