Watching sushi made fresh at the bar

One of the highlights of our visit was sitting at the bar, watching Chef Kong, Hikari’s sushi chef, prepare each dish in front of us. Seeing the focus, technique, and attention to detail that goes into every plate adds something special to the meal.

If you’re visiting for the first time, we’d strongly recommend grabbing a bar seat. It turns dinner into a front‑row experience and really showcases the craftsmanship behind Hikari’s menu.

Choosing favourites wasn’t easy, but a few dishes really stood out and are well worth ordering if you’re planning a visit.

Jellyfish Bites
A brilliant way to start the meal, light and moreish. A unique dish that sets the tone for what Hikari does best.

Octopus Salad
Fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavour, the octopus salad delivered a bold wasabi punch that we loved. Balanced, refreshing, and absolutely one we’d order again.

Sashimi Platter
The sashimi platter was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. 

Shadow Dragon Roll
Our standout sushi roll of the night. The Shadow Dragon Roll, topped with rich teriyaki eel, was indulgent without being heavy and perfectly balanced. If you’re a sushi fan, this one is a must.
