New Food Spots To Try in Leeds This December

November served us up a treat with a bunch of new food spots popping up across the Leeds City Centre. So get ready to explore and indulge this December, in the latest spots that hit our street last month, from Japanese pancakes, guest kitchens, foodie markets and more!

Northern Market

Leeds' very own Northern Monk Brewery have opened a 'Market Hall' in the former Assembly Underground space. The Northern Market are serving up Northern Monk's famous pale ale, Faith, alongside 10 tap lines, wines, spirits and frozen cocktails. Joining them on the food front is the wonderful guys at Big Buns, serving up smash burgers, loaded fries, wings and juicy buttermilk chicken burgers.

Six Slice, a new pizza joint in the Leeds scene, serving folded pizza's just like the Neapolitans do! And last, but certainly not least, Falafel Guys, some of the best falafel, halloumi, donner and wings the city has ever seen!

They're open from 11:45am until late every day, so make sure to go check them out soon and show your support!

Sonder

Tucked away in the lovely Grand Arcade, Sonder, a 'japantro' lifestyle store and cafe, has opened this month. You can tell that the design throughout has been carefully considered and every corner of the space feels thoughtful and cosy.

Currently only serving vegan baked goods and a selection of hot drinks (including milk alternatives at no extra cost), Sonder hopes to launch a brunch menu in 2024, leaving much anticipation and excitement for what's to come.

Fluffy Fluffy

Pancake lovers, unite for Leeds' first Japanese-inspired pancake house is here! It's all in the name, but be prepared to eat some of the fluffiest pancakes you've ever eaten in your lives, finished with a topping of your choice.

Based on the busy Headrow, Fluffy Fluffy serves their famous pancakes, savoury and sweet croffles, burnt-top cheesecakes, cakes and hot drinks- it may be a hard decision what to pick from this mouthwatering menu!

Blue Pavilion

A new premium oriental fine dining spot has hit the Merrion Centre this November. Blue Pavillion, an East Asian cuisine based restaurant has opened in Leeds, offering a luxurious dining experience and also the option of three different themed private dining spaces.

Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, their lunch menu is probably one to treat yourself to! If you're thinking about dining in the evening, choose one of their set menu's, made up of small plates, mains, sides and desserts.

Bao Bros at Archie’s in Granary Wharf

Hooray, Bao Bros are in the city centre! After their success at The Bingley Horbury and The Riverhead Brewery Tap, Bao Bros have opened in Archie's Leeds, which sits under one of the arches at Granary Wharf. Their menu ranges from Lobster Bao-Dog's, Black Bean Kung Fu, Dutty Fries, or even the Duttiest of Fries including ultimate crispy pork belly...wow!

It's a great spot to enjoy a drink and bao after work, why not enjoy a pint or two of craft beer, with a great selection of both meat and vegetarian dishes on offer.

We're so lucky to live in such a wonderful city that has so many exciting new foodie openings, we can't wait to go and try them all out ASAP!
