The Best Festive Things to Eat This Christmas in Leeds

Now that we're well into December, it's important that we are only eating festive themed food, right?

I've rounded up some lovely Christmas type things to eat in Leeds, including the likes of mince pie baos, reindeer kebabs, and even a burger with a Greggs Steak Bake stacked on top of it.

Just before I share all of this with you, I'd like to remind you to buy Leeds Food Tours gifts for your loved ones. Whether you choose a self-guided food tour for two, or gift vouchers for a guided food tour, your recipient will love finding hidden gems and eating their way around the city!

Here's a quick summary of what's on offer.

Leeds Food Tours Gifts & Vouchers

Self-Guided Food Tours

The self-guided tours have been the most popular gifts this year so far.

They get a physical pack containing beautifully printed instructions, map, information cards and tokens. They then follow the map to six street food venues, hand over a token at each stop, and enjoy delicious food!

Each tour is for two people, so a great gift for couples, your parents, your in-laws, or anyone who likes you enough to take you with them.

Gift Vouchers

Digital gift vouchers are also available, and can be redeemed against guided food tours (which run most Saturdays).

When they book a tour, I will take them to six of the best independent pubs, restaurants and markets stalls in the city. Food is included at every stop, and I have a tonne of fun foodie facts and history to tell them if they wish!

Gift vouchers will be sent via email after purchase.

The Best Festive Things to Eat in Leeds This Christmas

Mince Pie Baos at Little Bao Boy

In Leeds city centre, you'll find Little Bao Boy at North Brewing Co. Tap Room on Sovereign Street. They are a must-visit for bao buns anyway, but right now they are serving mince pie baos!

It's a bao bun deep fried, tossed in caster sugar, stuffed with mince pie filling. Very indulgent, very tasty.

Christmas Poutine From Spuds & Bros

For the ultimate comfort food, enjoyed whilst surrounded by bright lights and festive rides, head to Millennium Square.

Spuds & Bros serve up the best poutine - a Canadian dish of chips, cheese curds and gravy. It's such cosy food, and definitely one of the favourite stops on the Leeds Christmas food tour last week!

Stuzzi's Leeds Christmas Market

I've never been disappointed by Stuzzi (a fabulous Italian small plates restaurant), so when I saw that they have a festive market every Sunday, it was a must for the Christmas food tour!

As well as their full menu, they have festive arancini (we had this on the food tour, it was SO good) and Porchetta sandwiches to eat whilst you browse.

Dijon Boys at The Corn Exchange Christmas Market

The Corn Exchange is looking extra beautiful right now with it's Christmas decorations! Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays they have a Christmas market downstairs, with food being served up by Dijon Boys.

On the Christmas food tour we had ox cheek stew with mash & braised red cabbage, sprouts with smoked garlic butter, and (less festive), the most incredible Korean fried chicken.

The Dijon Boys are three guys creating some of the best food in Leeds right now, and you can also find them at their permanent restaurant at Number 8 in Meanwood.

Bundobust Christmas Specials

Bundobust always have great specials, so of course they were going to put on some interesting festive dishes!

The menu includes Mince Pie Paratha, Sprout Bhajis, Sprout Bhaji Butty, Festive Dahl and Christmas Kulfi.

Bastard's Bistro at Chow Down

Possibly the most ridiculous burger I've heard of, the McBastard Tower Burger.

Fried chicken, hash brown, bacon & cranberry jam, stuffing mayo and a GREGGS FESTIVE BAKE! All inside a potato brioche bun. Find it at the Chow Down winter village.

Meat Stack's Dip Harder

Another Christmas burger for you, selected both because it sounds delicious (I've not yet tried it) and because it's surely the best named burger in Leeds.

Meat Stack's 'Dip Harder' Christmas burger includes 'Southern Fry' spiced stuffing, bacon, Stack sauce and cranberry BBQ. As a bonus, it comes with a bowl of southern style dipping gravy!

Accompany with the Pie Harder (another great name) milkshake: a Christmas spiced vanilla milkshake blended with a mince pie.

Reindeer Kebab at I am Doner

I am Döner aim to 'make the Döner kebab more than a guilty pleasure for the intoxicated', with high quality ingredients and the most delicious kebabs.

They're working with a Finnish chef and a reindeer farmer whose family have been farming for over 300 years, and have created a reindeer meat kebab topped with ligonberry mayo. I haven't tried it yet, but will be finding an excuse to do so!

I hope this blog post has gotten you into the festive mood if you weren't already. Please do take a minute to check out the Leeds Food Tours Christmas gift options before you go, by clicking the link below.
